Who qualifies to participate in the European Convention 2013?

The top 3 choruses and 3 quartets from each European barbershop organization.
In case of mixed organizations (like BinG!), 3 female choruses and quartets and 3 male choruses and quartets.
In case the organization cannot send the top 3, then they are free to choose 3 out of the top 5.
Organizations that have a yearly convention and the rule that a winning chorus or quartet cannot compete the next year, can send the champion chorus and quartet from 2011 as well as the top 2 choruses and quartets from 2012 or out of the best 5.
The European Champion comes on top of that.
For example: LABBS can send the 2011 winner, which are the White Rosettes. As they are also the current European champions. LABBS can then choose to send the White Rosettes as well as their top 3 from 2012 or 3 out of the top 5. In total 4 choruses.
Qualification for the European mixed quartet contest: the quartet must officially represent at least one of the European barbershop organizations. These organizations can set their own qualification requirements. Every organization can sent a maximum of three mixed quartets.

The current European Champions 2009 are:
  Men
    chorus: Zero8 (SNOBS)
    quartet: Ringmasters (SNOBS)
  Women
    chorus: The White Rosettes (LABBS)
    quartet: Remix quartet (SAI Nordic Light Region)
 

Organisations represented in the European Barbershop Convention

The Draw

• The draw for the national and European contests has been done during the annual Holland Harmony membership meeting in April 2012. The draw has been based upon 3 choruses and 3 quartets from each organization, and in addition the current European Champions.
  We have made the draw for the following contests:
  - Holland Harmony (female) quartet contest
  - Holland Harmony (female) chorus contest
  - European female quartet contest
  - European male quartet contest
  - European female chorus contest
  - European male chorus contest
  We have not yet made the draw for the mixed quartet contest
  - European mixed quartet contest => to be drawn in November
  A very preliminary order of appearance is shown below, the definite order will be published on November 15, when the contest registration closes for the last two organizations.
• Please note that the quartet contests are on Thursday and the chorus contests on both Friday and Saturday. All choruses need to be prepared to be there on Thursday or very early Friday morning, in case they are competing on Friday.
• On Thursday we also will have a 'European mixed quartet contest' for mixed quartets who are officially representing one or more European barbershop organization(s).

- in case a quartet does not register for the contest, the order of appearance
  of the other quartets will not be affected.

   First estimate on exact date allocation depend on actual registrations and
   will be made by mid July.
   Probably 55% will by on Friday and 45% on Saturday
- list to be merged with the European male & female choruses
- in case a chorus does not register for the contest, the order of appearance
  of the other choruses will not be affected.
- the top3 scoring choruses will automatically join the European contest

Note:
- all quartets will be on stage on Thursday March 14
- list to be merged with the Holland Harmony female quartets and the mixed quartets
-  #1 representation in this list is the highest ranked representation from an organisation in 2012. Normally that would the 2012 golden quartet, but in case they do not participate it will be the silver (or lower ranked) quartet. In the same way #2 and #3 are the next ranked representations. In case an organisation is entitled to send a previous champion (2011) they will be placed at the #3 place in this list.

Order of appearance for European MIXED quartet contest:
 

The order of appearance for the European Mixed Quartet Contest will be determined once the deadline for registration has been passed (by end of November).

The final Order of Appearance

By end of November we will determine the final Order of Appearance:

• The QUARTET contests will last a full day, starting on Thursday March 14  early in the morning until the evening
• The above lists for the Holland Harmony quartets, the European male & female quartets and the European Mixed Quartets will be equally merged by end November.
• The Chorus contests will last a two days, starting on Friday March 15 early in the morning until dinner and will be continued on Saturday March 16 early in the morning until dinner.
  First estimate on exact date allocation depend on actual registrations and will be made by mid July.
  Probably 55% will by on Friday and 45% on Saturday
• The above lists for the Holland Harmony choruses and the European male & female choruses will be equally merged by end November.
